The Young Scientist and Former President of India was born on October 15 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam belongs to a poor Muslim Family. APJ Kalam has also served as chief scientific advisor to PM from 1992-99. He has also received 48 doctorate honorary awards from various Indian and foreign institutes.
