The speculations in Odisha Politics have begun ahead of the 2024 elections. A Surprising Speculation has griped over the Naveen Patnaik will be contesting from Puri in the 2024 Assembly Elections. BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik will repeat its 2019 Strategy in 2024. In the last election, Naveen contested two Assembly seats, One is all-time Constituency Hinjili from Ganjam and the other one is BIjepur in Bargarh District. In 2024 Naveen Patnaik will stand from Puri Constituency as his second seat other than Hinjili.
The News was not confirmed by BJD Supremo but the Senior BJD leader and Daitapai of Lord Jagannath Temple Rama Krushna DasMahapatra has suggested the statement that the CM will contest from Puri. He said That If CM contests from Puri everybody will welcome him apart from party guidelines. And we all have given a proposal to Naveen Patnaik.
Currently, BJD is giving a high focus on Puri. The Shree Mandira Parikrama Plan is the major development project going on puri and is planned to be finished by New Year. Many other Construction Projects are under construction in the district. Also, Govt is planning to build an international AirPort in Puri. 5T is also observing the progress in the District indicating the intention of the News.
As per the Media Reports in 2019, there was a rumour Narendra Modi will stand as MP from Puri. This the Puri MLA Jayanta Sarangi also repeated his statement after Naveen Patnaik’s news, He said we have requested PM Narendra Modi to contest from Puri. If PM will stand from Puri then no Naveen factor will work here.
In the last election, BJP has given a top fight to BJD in both MP and MLA seats at Puri. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra has lost against BJD-winning MP Pinaki Mishra only by a one-percent vote margin. Currently, Puri LA Constituency is ruled by BJP leader Jayan Sarangi who has won against BJD’s three-time MLA Maheshwar Mohanty. If Naveen decides to stand from Puri BJP will give him a top fight as in a few days the saffron party has strengthened his party grassroots level. But Ultimately Lord Jagnnath’s Blessings and the People of Puri will decide the future.
